In the 2024-2026 period, IOJI is committed to increasing efforts to protect and empower small fishermen in Central Java by increasing public participation of small fishermen in policy formulation. This effort will be implemented through increasing the capacity of local governments, including the preparation of guidelines for implementing public participation for the regional government of Central Java province, as well as increasing the literacy and capacity of small-scale fishermen regarding their rights and obligations so that they can advocate for their rights through training and the preparation of pocket books regarding rights and obligations of small fishermen.
